Inflation and the cost of living crisis
In recent months, households across the world are struggling to keep up with daily living costs for food and energy, whilst in parallel more interest rates are rising rapidly with no limit in sight. In Europe, the war in Ukraine has affected global supply chains with major cost implications across a wide range of products, pushing inflation to record highs and energy prices, particularly gas, reaching highs not seen for many decades.
This online session with LSE faculty will examine the interconnected nature of the current crisis, and considers whether and how global and national financial institutions can help manage the outcomes for our everyday cost of living.
