It includes research on contributing factors to diversity / homogeneity in the workplace, benefits / drawbacks of diversity, and practices to promote it. Then there will be Interactive session where participants discuss their reaction to taking the implicit attitude test (IAT). It includes discussion of IAT and outcomes of implicit attitudes at work. Participants’ preparation: Participants need to complete two IATs online before the session. They should choose the one they think will be easiest and the one they are most afraid to take. They must bring results with them. The final session will be Group dynamics: Interactive session where participants work in groups and experience the effects of cohesiveness on group performance. This is an intellectual and experiential forum for developing inter-cultural knowledge and skills, and involves the study of cross-cultural management theories and practices in the context of multicultural and international business environment.
The third day, Dr Nadia Millington will focus on Social Innovation. The day starts with exploring the concepts of social entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship and innovative business solutions to GDI challenges globally. We will then explore, design thinking principles of innovative problem solving and you will be guided through an iterative design process to solve a social problem, culminating in a short pitch of the solutions at the end of the exercise.
