In this talk I will attempt to answer the questions posed in the title, stressing the importance of adopting an evidence]based worldview. I will discuss several groups of adversaries f this worldview: academic postmodernists and radical social] constructivists, advocates of pseudoscience, advocates of religion, and propagandists of all kinds.
