Synopsis
As with other major neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s disease ,Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a disease that can be hereditary. It is known that 5 to 10% of patients with ALS have or have had fi rst or second-degree family members with the same disease or frontotemporal dementia. It has focused on the genetic implications and the challenges in knowledge, diagnosis and management of the disease.
