Abstract

Learning is the result of a delicate balance in which several molecular cascades intervene. Neurotrophins and their receptors may act as regulators of learning and memory effectiveness. To date, the role of neurotrophin systems, such as "NT3-TrkC", in the pathological alterations of said processes is unknown. The study will be conducted on transgenic mice with an overexpression of the NT-3 TRkC receptor with the help of molecular techniques, which will enable us to determine the relationship between learning and memory and their molecular and cellular processes.

Through this experimental model, we will attempt to verify whether these animals increase neuron production and survival in the hypocamp (a brain structure related to learning and memory) and its consequences on neuronal plasticity, learning and memory in adult mice.
