Economic History

Conference series: Five great masters and the economic modernization of Spain in the 20th century. The objective of this conferences series commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences of the Complutense University of Madrid.

Speakers traced the influence of five great professors – Valentín Andrés Álvarez, José Castañeda, José Luis Sampedro, Enrique Fuentes Quintana and Luis Ángel Rojo - in the institutionalization of economic studies, the promotion of research based on new theoretical, statistical and econometric tools, and in the modernization of the Spanish economy.

DEBIN MA, from the Hitotsubashi University, was invited to deliver the Figuerola conference of the Figuerola Institute of History and Social Science of the Carlos III University of Madrid, which was entitled: Ideology and Institutions: Understanding Economic Changes in 19-20th Century China.
