The Great Crisis has brought about an extraordinary increase in banking regulation, but it has not changed the money creation system. Some scholars, very minority, have proposed to move from the current system of creating fragile money by commercial banks to a secure money system issued by central banks, which, in addition, would allow the liberalization of banking activity.
We addressed safe money and liberalization of the banking sector at an expert seminar organized by Miguel Ángel Fernández Ordóñez, former Governor of the Bank of Spain. Participants included Joseph Huber (Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg).
International accounting was addressed at a symposium and a series of conferences, within the framework of the already extensive collaboration between the Fundación Ramón Areces and the Chair of the Autonomous University of Madrid - Auditores Madrid. Lectures were delivered by Karel Van Hulle (Goethe University Frankfurt) and Hervé Stolowy (HEC Paris).
