Economy and Gender

The Spanish Economic Association created a Committee about Women in Economics (COSME). The main objective of the committee is to evaluate and promote the situation of women within the Economics academic profession. Since 2010, COSME organizes the COSME Gender Economics Workshop, an international workshop in which researchers with interests in Gender Economics present and discuss their research. The workshop takes place every year at the end of May in Madrid. 

In the last few years, the Fundación Ramón Areces has been holding it at its headquarters. In 2019 this public conference was organized by María Guadalupe (INSEAD).

One of the four Masterclasses of the London School of Economics held in the year focused too on gender issues. Under the title: Gender, Inclusion and Diversity in Management in the 21st Century, LSE professors presented the main concepts and theories of diversity and inclusion at the workplace, focusing on gender, cultural diversity and social innovation.
