Biomedicine includes a diversity of issues of maximum current interest, and is the study area in which numerous research groups from the universities and other Spanish research centres come together. For this reason, the Foundation's Scientific Council has continued to include this subject in many of the annual grant programmes, in which a large number of doctorate graduates from the areas of Medicine, Pharmaceutics, Veterinary Science and Biology are taking part. Likewise, the Foundation wants to offer possibilities to young doctorate graduates in the areas of Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
In order to open up this edition to other areas of research, the Scientific Council has considered it convenient to offer scholarship grants to doctorate graduates in the fields of Climate Change and Marine Sciences, which are of particular relevance in our country.
