Ya sea que las monedas digitales estén basadas en criptografía, lanzadas por plataformas de redes sociales masivas como Facebook o respaldadas por el Banco Central como en algunos países, incluidos China y Singapur, se está produciendo una revolución significativa en la forma en que se espera que la innovación digital dé forma al futuro del dinero. Este seminari online examinará la investigación académica sobre tecnologías blockchain y monedas digitales y considerará su impacto potencial en nuestras vidas digitales futuras.

Carsten Sørensen
Carsten Sørensen holds a BSc in Mathematics, an MSc in computer science and a PhD. in Information Systems from Aalborg University, Denmark. Carsten has since 1989 been affiliated with a number of Danish, Swedish and British institutions, and LSE since 1999. He has extensive experience as a Principal Investigator on a number of national, EU, and industry research grants in the UK and Sweden, is a Senior Editor for The Information Systems Journal and reviewer for all the major Information Systems journals and conferences.
Garrick Hileman
Garrick Hileman is a Visting Fellow in the LSE Information Systems and Innovation Group, and formely at the LSE Centre for Macroeconomic from 2015-19. He has been a Senior Research Associate at Cambridge University, and taught at Colombia, Oxford, Northwestern and Imperial University, amongst others. He is currently Research Director for Blockchain.com.
Adam Austerfield
Adam Austerfield is an Associate at LSE´s Cañada Blanch Centre, and LSE IDEAs. He has an BA in History from University College, London and an MSc in Economics and Politics from LSE, where he worked as Global Markets Director for LSE Enterprise for 15 years. He was from 2012 – 2020 the Madrid then National Vice-President for the British Chambers of Commerce in Spain, and a Board Member of the British Embassy in Spain.
