In 1912, cosmic rays were discovered. Cosmic rays are high energy particles, such as protons, Helium or heavier nuclei. It has been a mystery how and where these particles are accelerated. The discovery of cosmic ray particles also suggested that there are high-energy phenomena that cannot be understood with optical observations only. We expect that the studies of neutrinos, gravitational waves and gamma rays should unveil the mysteries of the high-energy Universe. In this talk, I will discuss the excitement of the studies of the Universe with these messengers.
