The writer Andrés Trapiello acknowledges that he has read "about half of the 400 or 500 books that have been published about Madrid". His work dedicated to the capital city, with the same title, published in 2020, is the result of this research.

Trapiello shared confidences about the "his Madrid" in an online conversation with Fernando Rodríguez Lafuente, from the Ortega y Gasset University Institute, and the essayist and writer Fernando Castillo. The three engaged in a dialogue that was often interrupted to extol the benefits, and the shortcomings, of the Spanish capital.
