Academic excellence, disciplinary diversity, plurality of perspectives and values marked this cycle that was co-organized by the Deliberate Foundation, the Free College of Emeritus, and the Ramón Areces Foundation.

The suitability of the idea is, on the one hand, in the very concept of deliberation understood as an exchange of ideas to offer the interlocutor arguments that he did not know and to receive in exchange for him others that one himself ignored; to think is to change ideas, but from the contrasted rationality of the same.

And, on the other hand, in the identity of the teachers at the School Free of Emeritus, which brings together the most eminent of all Spanish universities, providing them with after his retirement administrative means necessary to continue their educational work and academic and that can continue to be a valuable channel of transmission of the underlying cultural and intellectual tradition to new generations of teachers, students, and public worship in general.
