Humanities activities

The Ramón Areces Foundation and the Spanish Commission of Military History, with the collaboration of the Royal Academy of History, organized a series of conferences whose objective was to give a new impetus to the dissemination of the Military History of Spain. This work, carried out by the Spanish Commission of Military History with the invaluable collaboration of the Royal Academy of History and made possible thanks to the sponsorship of the Foundation, represents a milestone in military historiography and a benchmark for researchers of this specialty of history. Under the direction and coordination of Hugo O'Donnell and Duque de Estrada (Duke of Tetuán, Vice-President of the CEHISMI and Full Academic of the RAH), the cycle had four sessions. Two of them were held at the headquarters of the Higher Center for Defense Studies (CESEDEN) and the other two at the headquarters of our institution. The first session was chaired by the Defense Minister Margarita Robles.
