In 2021, the 16th International Accounting Research Symposium and the 10th Conference Series of Ramón Areces Foundation on “International Accounting” were held. Both initiatives are the result of the already extensive collaboration between the Ramón Areces Foundation and the Chair UAM-Auditors Madrid, led by Professor Leandro Cañibano, emeritus professor of the Autonomous University of Madrid, and co-written by the professor of the University Carlos III of Madrid, Beatriz García.

The symposium was structured around a series of lectures by leading experts in the field, who discussed the most recent developments in the area. The symposium is aimed at doctoral students, early-stage professors and researchers in Accounting and Finance. It represents a unique opportunity to attend lectures given by expert professors and, also, to interact with colleagues and receive feedback on both developed projects (articles) and in development (early-stage ideas).
