- Programme
¿What is the source of the technological advances that continuously change our everyday life? I will show with simple examples how important recent advances in the Technologies of Information and Communication (computers, telephones..) have their roots in breakthroughs in pure fundamental science. I will also describe the possible technological revolutions expected from the current research on the "topologically protected" magnetic solitons called skyrmions or from new types of components mimicking the neurons and synapses in our brain.
