The evidence indicates that online education is a good complement to face-to-face education but understood more as “active learning” than as a tool for improvement. The combination of both modalities, face-to-face and online, has a more important effect on higher cognitive level activities, which will be more demanded in the future. This conversation allowed a key discussion of challenges and opportunities to face a future education without losing teaching quality.
The pandemic has caused a boom in the demand for online services and solutions accelerating the digital transformation of companies. This phenomenon will most likely remain as the structural change of our economy that characterized this crisis. What is the degree of overqualification in the Spanish labor market and what reforms does the educational system need to respond to the current adjustment?
The financial crisis of 2008 and the current crisis of 2020, derived from a pandemic, show great differences. These are not only in their different origins, but in many other features, among which we can mention their geographical scope, their speed of spread, the depth of the originated recession, as well as the strength of the subsequent economic recovery. The financial sector will play a fundamental role in the way out of the economic crisis caused by COVID-19.
